Short notes on design work I rate, and why. A new pick most days.

Beats in Space homepage: horizontal row of mix cards with signed polaroids, a fixed eight-cell navigation grid and a yellow player bar

Websites

Beats in Space turned 25 years of signed polaroids into the interface

The Lacoste Polo Factory intro screen: 3D polos and crocodiles floating on a green field around an oval Polo Factory badge

Top Picks

The Lacoste Polo Factory paints every room a single colour

Karol Ortyl homepage hero: his name drawn as one hand-scribbled outline with twelve numbered connect-the-dots inside the letters, above a highlighter-marked line reading fun-doing designer at large, on a dark background

Inspiration

One portfolio, two type voices: Karol Ortyl keeps the play out of the work

The Mother Design Shop storefront in West Adams, Los Angeles: a terracotta building with three grey-framed windows, the shop name in small white type on the middle pane, and a red-bordered display on the right holding a Mr. Potato Head behind a NOT FOR SALE sticker

Industry

Mother Design opened a shop, and half the shelf is their own client work

Tools

Framer's shaders now follow your cursor, and the spring is the whole trick

Websites

One number per project, set in a grey chip

Lama Lama homepage: macro footage of a caramel drop on skin in warm brown, with the cream headline A CREATIVE DIGITAL AGENCY THAT GOES ALL IN OR NOT AT ALL and a floating dark nav pill labelled NICE ENTRANCE

Top Picks

Lama Lama turns its nav bar into a running commentary

Collection's homepage: a heraldic crest centered on white, with navigation items pinned to the corners and the display headline rising from the bottom edge

Inspiration

The title-page layout: Collection pins the whole interface to the edges

Industry

Hornet grew a strategy department instead of buying one

Figma's Release Notes page, with the July 16 2026 entry titled Bring code-backed screens onto the canvas

Tools

Figma's pasted screens now land on my variables

Websites

The specimen site that cuts one letter in half to show you two cuts

Glitch and Grit home page: full-bleed video with a giant pale cyan headline reading OPENAI: BUSINESS, REIMAGINED, small nav at the top edge and the studio name split across the bottom edge

Top Picks

Glitch&Grit pins its name to the corners and lets the film run

StageCrew's home page: project images stacked down the left column, with the project name AURA and its service list bookending one line in the right text column

Inspiration

The archive page: StageCrew publishes the work that never shipped
